Laila Hosny Hussein
"Each painting starts as something I feel deeply — an emotion, a vision that lingers in my mind until I am compelled to bring it to life. It is all about the energy it carries, how it touches both myself and the spectator."
Born in Cairo, Laila spent thirty years as a radiologist before fully committing to art in 2018. Since then: 20+ group exhibitions across Cairo's leading galleries and a first solo show, Echoes of the Sailors, at Samah Art Gallery in 2024. Her work spans sailors and sea, family, abstraction, cubism and florals. She sees this diversity not as a style choice but a reflection of who she is. The name Art De Loulou comes from what her granddaughters call her.
